Performance NotesNora Blackwood's demonstration:
"'D-d-did she talk like that?' asked Nora, rubbing her throat and gulping a glass of water to help disperse the symptom of a dry throat. She had told the service of reunio audience that the communicator had died recently. 'I doubt if she has been in the spirit world three months,' said the medium. 'I get August. I'm not sure, but she seems to have a speech impediment.' Ron Shaw, a civil servant... recognised the communicator as his landlady. She went into hospital in August and died on September 20. She had a stammer, always worse when she was excited. Having found her recipient, Nora quickly provided conclusive proofs. 'That's my boy,' was the landlady's comment. 'There are two of us,' said Shaw. 'But you are not her sons,' Nora said emphatically. 'That's quite right.' 'Who's Eric?' asked the medium. 'That's me,' shouted an excited voice from two rows behind Ron... 'Louise that is her name,' Ron responded. Mrs Louise Jack[son] added that the spirit world was a wonderful place... Nora said the woman had passed in the night. She had gone into a coma... The communicator spoke of her husband still on earth, 'but he does not know I'm alive.' The medium then described a door on which she could see 22. 'That's right' Eric answered. 'That's where we lived.' 'Was she in Paddington Hospital? Nora asked. Once more she was correct. ..." [More descriptions in the Psyhic News]

Stanley Poulton's demonstration:
"Two persons claimed the message when he annouced that a William Duffy or Duffield was communicating. Poulton soon found the correct one. 'He speaks of Derek.' 'Eric,' the woman corrected. ... 'Willy takes me overseas - I'm getting a connection with Australia.' 'Yes, we all came from Australia.' 'Who is Bessie or Jessie on earth?' Yes, it's Jessie.' 'Is there a connection with Brisbane and is Jessie something to do with it?' - Yes we are all from Brisbane and Jessie is my sister. ...
Fred, another communciator, was also acknowledged as was the evidence of something wrong with his index finger. Then Poulton asked, 'Would Eric be a husband?' Once more the answer was 'Yes.'
