Performance Notes | "CONCERT AIDS CZECH STUDENTS AND REFUGEES. The Albert Hall was filled yesterday for a special concert presented by the United Nations Association "in support of the brave people of Czechoslovakia." All 6,000 seats were taken and more than 1,000 people were standing. Miss Jacqueline du Pre, the cellist, and her husband, Daniel Barenboim, 25, who conducted the London Symphony Orchestra were the principal performers. Messages of support were sent from all parts of the world. Among them were teelgrams from Mr Stewart, Foreign Secretary; Mr Heath, leader of the Opposition; Cardinal Heenan, and Dr Ramsey, Archbishop of Canterbury. Proceeds will be shared between the United Nations Association, which is giving aid to Czechoslovak students in Britain, and the Foundation of Czechoslovak Immigrants, a trust established to assist Czech refugees. TELEPHONE THREAT. Mr Barenboim was provided with a special police guard at the Albert Hall and at his Paddington home after an anonymous telephone caller threatended his life."
