Performance Notes | "The Duchess of Kent was present yesterday morning at the first of a series of special concerts for London schoolchildren given by the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. She was welcomed by the Duke of Wellington, who presented Mr John Cliff, Chairman of the LCC, Dr Leslie Russell, conductor of the orchestra, Sir Adrian Boult, conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and Sir Stanley Marchant, principal of the Royal Academy of Music. The concert included works by Weber, Haydn, Elgar and Berlioz. Parry's Jerusalem was sung by the audience of 5000 children." (The Times, 16 October 1946)
