Performance NotesThis was General Evangeline Booth's first public appearance as the Army's new General and was the only ceremony marking her assumption of leadership. General Booth spoke for 45 minutes. On the platform were representatives of many denominations - the Church of England, the Methodists, the Congregationalists, as well as the Chief Rabbi, Dr Hertz, and the Maharaja of Burdwan. Viscountess Astor was also present.
