Performance NotesThe first Burma reunion held at the Royal Albert Hall.

Associated Press (AP Archive - Story No. BM48643 and BM48643-2) hold British Movietone footage of the event.

An early performance by Julie Andrews who was twelve years old at the time.

General Slim addressed the audience and said, "You did something in Burma which people thought impossible. That is something that cannot be taken away from us. We got through because we were a team. Take that spirit with you into civvy street, and this old country will win through." A message from the King was read, and a recorded speech by Lady Mountbatten was also heard."
