BiographyApart from a short gap of roughly twenty years in London and ten years on the Ashdown Forest, Lucinda has lived in Lewes since she was a child. She studied as a soprano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for four years, from where she gained diplomas in performance and teaching.
For twenty-five years she performed as a soloist and choir member with most of the leading, London-based professional choirs and consorts, during which time she acquired a baritone husband, Stephen Charlesworth, and produced four children (including baritone and bassoonist Sebastian Charlesworth) before moving back to Sussex in 1994.
After having had the joyous experience of being part of Gardiner's year-long Bach Cantata Pilgrimage during 2000, Lucinda felt strongly that the time was right to pass on her enthusiasm for this music and other genres and turned her concentration to another passion - that of teaching.
To enable this, whilst continuing with her concert work, she returned to education, graduating from the University of Sussex in 2003 with a BA (Hons) in Music. She now holds various permanent teaching posts, performs locally, is a vocal coach for choirs and runs choral workshops. Lucinda also teaches private pupils in her studio in Lewes, East Sussex .
