Biography | John Tobin (1891, Liverpool, England - 1890) was a British conductor, musicologist and composer. Tobin taught at the Holt School from 1918 to 1926. In 1926-1927 he was conductor of the British National Opera Company. From 1935 to 1939 he was Director of Music at Toynbee Hall in London. From 1940 to 1945 he was conductor of the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and in 1946 he was conductor of the London Choral Society. |
