BiographyFraser Goulding, Conductor
Fraser began playing the piano at the age of 6, and the organ at 15. As a conductor he was fortunate to be guided and inspired by two very different conductors, James Robertson and Vilem Tausky, from both of whom he gained invaluable experience, acting as their assistant for several years. After reading music at Bristol University, he trained as a répétiteur at the London Opera Centre. Working with singers soon led to conducting operas, which in turn opened up opportunities to conduct orchestral repertoire.

Fraser is keen to encourage young conductors, singers and players both as a mentor, and through workshops. As well as having a busy conducting schedule, he is in demand as an accompanist, and as an arranger of scores for full orchestra or reduced forces.

In March 2013, Fraser will conduct performances of Poulenc’s The Dialogues of the Carmelites with the opera students at Birmingham Conservatoire of Music.
