As a singer Kenneth Riegel went for more than 30 years at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City , at the Paris Opera , in Rome , at the Vienna State Opera , in Boston , and New York. In Paris he took in the premiere of the three-act version of Alban Berg's opera Lulu the role of Alwa, which he later also sang at the Metropolitan Opera.
