| Biography | Alexei Sergeyev was a soloist born 24 January 1919 in Gerasimovka in the Tambov region of Russia. He was awarded People's Artist of the USSR (1967) and State Prize of the USSR. Sergeyev graduated from Gnessin State Musical College. From 1940 to 1968 he was bass singer with the Alexandrov Ensemble and was promoted to soloist in 1950. He performed in recitals from 1968. |
