| Biography | Jacobsson, Petter (b Stockholm, 1963).Swedish dancer, choreographer, and ballet director. He studied at the Royal Swedish Ballet School (1971-81) and at the Vaganova School in St Petersburg (1981-2). He danced with the Royal Swedish Ballet (1982-3), was soloist with London Festival Ballet (1983), and was principal dancer with Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet (later Birmingham Royal Ballet) from 1985 to 1990, although he continued to appear as a guest artist with the company until 1994. In 1991-2 he made his choreographic debut with Birmingham Royal Ballet when he created Someone. In 1994 he went to New York where he danced with Tharp among others. He was artistic director of the Royal Swedish Ballet (1999-2002) |
