Biography | The American soprano, Janice Dixon, was born in the Jazz Metropolis New York City. Her father was a Jazz-Saxophonist and Jazz music was a part of her life since she was a small child. She has worked with great orchestras like New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Symphony, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, and the Virginia Symphony, gave a concert with the Trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie at the Newport Jazz-Festival and she has also performed with Graham Haynes, the son of the famous drummer Roy Haynes. Since 1995 she has appeared as soloist with her bank all over in Germany, and these appearances were often taped for radio and TV. A few highlights are: "Jazz-Frühschoppen", "Jazz im Foyer" (Nationaltheater Mannheim), "Jazz im Quadrat", "Jazz-Nacht Bad Dürkheim", "Muddy's Club Weinheim", and the "International May Festival Wiesbaden". |
