Biography | Jennifer Hughes currently holds the Gilbert and Eileen Edgar Junior Fellowship in piano accompaniment at the Royal College of Music. She studied with Hilary Coates as a DfES scholar at Wells Cathedral School and completed her Masters at the RCM in 2012 where she was a Drapers Company Scholar studying with John Blakely and Roger Vignoles. Jennifer has been awarded the Accompanist Prize in the 2013 Royal Overseas League Music Competition, won the AESS Patricia Routledge National English Song Competition Accompanist Prize, Joaninha Trust Accompanist Prize, the Titanic Memoriam Prize (RCM Lies Askonas Competition 2012) and was selected to receive an award from the Geoffrey Parsons Memorial Trust. Much in demand as an instrumental duo partner and song pianist, she has performed in venues including the Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Bridgewater Hall and St James Piccadilly. Recent performance highlights include the Rachmaninoff Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire (Moscow Festival) and BBC Proms. She has participated in several masterclasses including with Pierre Amoyal and Bruno Canino (Academie de Musique de Lausanne, 2009), Hâkan Hagegârd (Oxford Lieder Festival, 2011), Roger Vignoles and Ann Murray (Wigmore Hall, 2012).
