BiographyIrish tenor Robin Tritschler made his Royal Opera debut in 2013 as Half-wit (Wozzeck).
Tritschler studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. He has sung many leading lyric tenor roles for Welsh National Opera, including Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Bénédict, Narraboth (Salome) and Ananda (Jonathan Harvey’s Wagner Dream). He has also sung for companies including Angers-Nantes Opéra and La Monnaie, Brussels, and for the Aldeburgh and Ruhr Triennale Festivals.
Tritschler is a prolific recitalist and performs regularly with Roger Vignoles, Malcolm Martineau, Graham Johnson and Simon Lepper. He has sung for the Gulbenkian Foundation, with orchestras including the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and in Britten Centenary performances at the Barbican and for Radio France. He was a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist 2012–14.
