Biography | Born in 1990, the German soprano Anna Lucia Richter received her first singing lessons from her mother Regina Dohmen. Between 2004 and 2008 she studied with professor Kurt Widmer in Basel and in 2007 she became a junior student of professor Klesie Kelly-Moog at Cologne Conservatory. She was honoured with the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Preis in 2011, and in July 2012 was awarded first prize in the Internationaler Robert Schumann Wettbewerb. She has performed Brahmss A German Requiem with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden and the Singakademie Dresden. After hearing her voice, Wolfgang Rihm immediately wrote three songs for her in Bad Kissingen. Upcoming engagements include Humperdincks Hänsel und Gretel (Sandmann/Taumann) as well as Mozarts Le nozze di Figaro (Barbarina) and Don Giovanni (Zerlina) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. Anna Lucia Richter will also perform Mahlers Fourth Symphony together with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. Other upcoming highlights in 2013 include a reinvitation to the Wigmore Hall in London and to the Kölner Philhamonie, a tour with Le Concert Lourrain, Bachs St John Passion under the baton of Christoph Prégardien, and concerts in Shanghai and Beijing. |
