Biography | Tom Billingtons love of performing was built around campfires, amateur dramatics and kitchen parties playing music with his family as a child. At the age of 13 he formed a band to play working mens clubs and school discos with his brother and sister and has since gone on to earn a reputation as one of the countrys finest and most versatile front men. For the best part of a decade, Tom toured the world alongside acts such as The Killers and Razorlight with the group Mohair and has since carved out a rich and varied performing career. He is now able to slip effortlessly between genres and go wherever the music takes him: from 80s pop to heavy rock, from funk and soul to progressive rock and country. Tom is a living, breathing music machine and is sharing it with as many people as possible. When hes not on stage hes busy championing music in education as well as running the Electric Umbrella project, which provides exciting and engaging music experiences for adults with learning disabilities. Tom is thrilled to be currently on the Young Voices tour for the second year in a row having driven our audiences crazy in 2015 for 22 shows including the Birminham NEX, Sheffield Motopoint Arena, Manchester M.E.N and the O2 Arena in London. 2016 is an exciting year for Tom as he is launching two new original projects. Country duo Billington and Quinn (with Sinead Quinn) will release their E.P in the spring and his current solo single 'HYPER' features on the Young Voices tour. The proceeds from the song will go to the music therapy charity, Nordorff Robbins, and is available to download from iTunes. (December 2016) |
