Biography | At the end of his life, the Chevalier de Saint-George founded a band he called The Circle of Harmony. At the head of this training and in the walls of what was the Palais Bourbon-Orleans, the Palais Royal, he will hear major works of his time.
In April 2005 in Deauville, the orchestra Circle of Harmony was founded under the musical direction of Jérémie Rhorer to serve the great symphonic and operatic repertoire from the late eighteenth century. Besides the greatest masterpieces of works by Mozart and Haydn, he is at the service of the French repertoire and especially that of a pivotal period: one that extends from the Ancien Régime to the First Empire.
In 2006, their participation in the Festival de Beaune, is revealed critical, when with Idomeneo by Mozart, they literally electrified the audience. This magnificent success was confirmed a year later, this time with Le Nozze di Figaro , which will lead, in September 2007 in a triumph at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.
In the coming years, the repertoire of the orchestra is certain to expand pre-romantic works such as Berlioz, Wagner and the first Spontini. The orchestra has played in major Parisian opera houses as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Opéra Comique and Opéra Garnier; and in the biggest festivals of opera (Beaune, Aix en Provence). It also occurs in Bremen, Cologne, Dortmund, Venice, Brussels, London, Monaco ... He is regularly associated with the great names of the staging as Stéphane Braunschweig, Eric Génovèse, Denis Podalydès, Marcel Bozonnet, Jérôme Deschamps, Eric Lacascade, Eric Ruf ...
The musicians of harmony Circle were formed in major conservatories dedicated to the practice on period instruments such as The Hague, Basel and Paris, and are mostly inheritors of the revolution initiated in interpretation mid-twentieth century by the great theorists N. Harnoncourt and G. Leonhardt.
The Circle of Harmony is a renewed and remodeled orchestra that incorporates young musicians of the Philharmonia, the London Symphony Orchestra.
