BiographyOver the last year, British saxophonist Jonathan Radford has become the winner of the Royal Overseas League Wind, Brass and Percussion Music Competition and been selected as a Young Concert Artist by Making Music (PDGYA) and the Countess of Munster Musical Trust Recital Scheme.

He has performed as a soloist at major venues across Europe including Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, Bridgewater Hall, Grieg Hall, Centre Pompidou and Philharmonie de Paris. Highlights for this concert season include recitals for music societies and festivals across the UK and performances at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in the Southbank Centre, the Wigmore Hall, the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall, St Martin-in-the Fields and St James’s Piccadilly.

Jonathan studied at Chetham’s Schools of Music and at the Conservatoire National Superior de Musique de Paris (CNSM), graduating in 2017 with masters degrees in both saxophone and chamber music with distinction. Currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music, London with Kyle Horch, Jonathan is the 2017/18 Mills Williams Junior Fellow.

Passionate about chamber music, Jonathan is a co-founder of the Yendo Quartet. The Quartet is regularly broadcasted by Radio France on the programmes Generation Jeunes Interprète, Alla Breve and En Piste and have recently released their first CD, Utópico.

Jonathan is grateful for the support of the Mills Williams Foundation, the Hattori Foundation (Senior Soloist Award), the Musicians' Company (Maisie Lewis Young Artist), Help Musicians UK (Ian Fleming Award) and Vandoren Paris.
