Biography | Pianist Vadim Gladkov was born in Kiev, Ukraine. He began studying piano with Ludmila Gavrina (his aunt); then with his mother Tatiana Gladkova; and later, he went on to study at the Music School for Gifted Children in Kiev with Professor Valery Sagaidachny. In 1997, Mr. Gladkov received his Soloist Diploma with an honourable mention from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Gladkov furthered his piano studies with Professor Dmitri Bashkirov and Assistant Professor Galina Egiazarova at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia, Madrid. In 1997 and 1998 he received the Best Student Award of the Piano Department from the hands of Her Majesty, The Spanish Queen Sofia.
Vadim Gladkov took master classes with Vitaly Margulis, Leon Fleisher, Claude Frank, Andras Schiff, Sergio Perticaroli, Menahem Pressler, György Sandor, Karl Ulrich Schnabel, Esther Yellin and Pavel Gililov. Mr. Gladkov has won top prizes in many International Competitions and Festivals such as the IX International Piano Competition Da Cidade do Porto(Grand Prix and 2 special prizes); I International Competition N. Lysenko (1st Prize and Gold Medal); Byelorussian Piano Competition Minsk Spring (1st Prize and the Prize for the Best Interpretation of the compulsory work); X International Piano Competition Ciudad de Ferrol (2nd Prize and Public Special Prize); XII Ibiza International Piano Competition (1st Prize); X International Singing Competition Acisclo Fernandez Carriedo (Best Piano Accompanist Prize) and VII International Grieg Competitionin Oslo (1st Prize and a Special Prize in the Two-Piano Competition as a member of the piano duo, Gladkov-Dorzhin). Mr. Gladkov was a member of the jury in the XIII Ibiza Piano Competition, IX International Piano Competition for Young Pianist Ciudad de San Sebastian, XXII International Piano Competition Da Cidade do Porto, I J. Chuluun International Music Competition in Ulaan-Baator, Anton Garcia Abril Piano International Competition, and the International Piano Competition Villa de Madrid. He led master classes at the conservatories of Cartagena, Palencia, Alcalá de Henares, the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP), Mongolias Music and Dance College, and Wells Cathedral School.
