BiographyTim Crooks is a British conductor, arranger and orchestrator with experience in different sectors of the music industry including live performance, recording and education.

Projects include orchestrating and conducting sell-out Hacienda Classical concerts (featuring DJs Graeme Park and Mike Pickering, Peter Hook and Manchester Camerata) at the Bridgewater Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and on tour in the UK.

Tim Crooks also conducted recording sessions of Hacienda Classical for Sony Music, and appears on the Channel 4 documentary 'Hacienda House Orchestra'.



In 2016 Tim Crooks was commissioned to orchestrate and conduct music for Cream Classics shows in Liverpool Cathedral with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and DJs K-Klass.

Originally a professional violinist Tim has performed at the BBC Proms, Cheltenham Festivals, and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC 6 Music. He is a founding member of the Manchester String Quartet and has arranged extensively for the quartet.

As an advocate for the wider benefits of music education Tim Crooks has co-led large-scale projects such as In Harmony Opera North, which won the 2014 Classic FM award for ‘Best Classical Music Education Initiative’.
