Biography | BBC Club Choir was founded by Ronald Corp in the 1980s.
In his words - 'Between 1970 and 1973 I read music at Christ Church under the tutelage of Simon Preston, who accepted me into the Cathedral Choir on a choral scholarship in my second year. I was accepted to do a research degree (Victorian oratorio) but failed to get a grant and so journeyed to London in search of work, duly securing a job in the BBC Music Library serving Radio 3, later becoming librarian specifcally to the BBC Singers. I also enjoyed two separate years as a producer of radio programmes
During my time at the BBC I formed a staff choir (the BBC Club Choir) and engagements with that choir brought me to the attention of other choral societies.' |
