Biography | Edward Alfred Broadribb was born in 1888, at 219 East street in Wandsworth, London.
Broadribb is the only Englishman who ever knocked out Georges Carpentier.
After his boxing career, during which he fought as "Young Snowball", Broadribb at one time or other managed Don McCorkindale, Hary Haris, Johnny Williams, Tommy Farr, Ernie Roderick, Teddy Baldock, Freddie Mills, Len Johnson, Nel Tarleton, Alf Mancini, Jack Hood, Dick Corbett, Harry Corbett and Ernie Jarvis. When any of Broadribb's boxers fought in the ring, they carried a capital "S" on their trunks to represent "Snowball." |
