BiographyClare trained at the Royal Academy of Music and Goldsmith’s College, University of London.

She began working in the theatre in London’s West End as a music copyist for shows such as Some Like it Hot, Ziegfeld, Oliver, Martin Guerre and she also worked on films such as Remains of the Day and Howard’s End .

As chorus master of Surrey Opera, she trained the chorus for Sweeney Todd, Orpheus in the Underworld, La Traviata, La Bohéme, Tosca and Carmen.

Clare was Music Director of Wimbledon Light Opera Society 2002 – 2005 and conducted Guys and Dolls, As Time Goes By, The Mikado, Sweet Charity, Iolanthe and Sweeney Todd . With Mayhem Productions, Clare conducted Oliver! at the Epsom Playhouse.

As a flautist, Clare has performed with many orchestras and bands and has toured Europe with various opera companies and orchestras. She has achieved much success as a flute teacher.

Clare is the director of the Emerald Music School in Purley and has conducted the award-winning choirs at many venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Cardiff’s Millennium Centre and the Royal Albert Hall.

Clare leads singing workshops in schools and has lead workshops for the Royal School of Church Music as far as Dorset and Somerset.

With the Osiris Ensemble, a youth choir based in Carshalton, Clare has conducted many orchestral and choral concerts. The choir has received many awards in competitions.

Clare is Singing Leader for Lewisham Music Service and works in schools across the borough organising and leading large scale singing events. She has conducted choirs of up to 1200 singers at the Royal Festival Hall, Blackheath Halls and at Catford Broadway Theatre. Clare also leads the Lewisham Junior Choir who were involved in the Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in 2014.
