Biography | Award-winning disc-jockey and trailblazing broadcaster DJ Ritu is a key pioneer of British Asian music. She began playing Bhangra in the 1980s at legendary venues across London, and kick-started her international career on the decks in countries like Canada, Germany, and Sweden. She presented weekly shows across the BBC Radio network for over two decades, co-founded cult Asian Underground label Outcaste Records, and toured in over 35 countries as the band-leader of Sister India. Ritu manages Londons original and leading Bollywood club event, Kuch Kuch Nights, and is the producer of the SOAS Concert Series at the University of London. |
