Biography | Chesaba is a musical trio specialising in music from the African continent. They were co-founded by Abel Selaocoe, a chamber musician who made his Wigmore Hall debut in 2013 with composer Colin Matthews. The trio were formed as part of a BBC Introducing project.
As award-winning artists, they have played in venues and festivals including the Amsterdam Muziekgebouws Cello Biennale, WOMAD, Bimhuis, The Bridgewater Hall and Kings Place with Manchester Collective. The trio has a passion for instilling diversity within its community through education and workshops. |
