| Biography | Benjamin Pope has conducted orchestras worldwide including the Royal Philharmonic, Hallé, Dresden Staatskapelle, Dresden Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National, CBSO, Berlin Staatskapelle, Tokyo Philharmonic and Scottish Chamber Orchestras, BBC Concert and Ulster Orchestras, with others in Holland, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Portugal, France, Japan, USA, Turkey, South Korea Austria, Czech Republic. He has toured to Jamaica and Africa with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and worldwide with The Royal Ballet.
Benjamin was named Music Consultant to Hong Kong Ballet in 2016, Music Director of the Royal Ballet of Flanders in 2011. In addition to a long-term collaboration with Matthew Bourne and New Adventures (Swan Lake, Nutcracker!, Highland Fling, The Car Man, Edward Scissorhands, Play Without Words, The Red Shoes) he has conducted for New York City Ballet, Dutch National, Royal Swedish, Royal Danish, Finnish National, Staatsballett Berlin, Norwegian National, Hong Kong Ballet, Scottish Ballet, ENB, Tokyo Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Charlotte Ballet, Northern Ballet, Rambert Dance Company. Benjamin also conducts live film screenings including the Harry Potter and Star Wars series, Amadeus, and Titanic, and DreamWorks Animation at Wembley Arena.
His work as a composer/arranger encompasses works for concert, stage, and screen, including many commissions for Rambert and Hong Kong Ballet. |
