BiographyGladys Ancrum was a soprano singer. The 1911 census lists her as a boarder in Portsmouth and a singer with an opera company. She was living with Alfred Heather, Montagu James Alliston, Lilian Alliston and Violet Allison, all also opera singers.

In 1914 she was a member of Thomas Quinlan's company and toured South Africa, Australia and Canada. Her repertoire included Venus in Tannhauser and the title role in Louise. She later focused on Wagner roles, and sang with the Beecham and BNOC companies.
