Biography | The Epworth Choir was founded in 1958 by Walter Deakin who was the conductor for the first 23 years. The purpose of the choir was and still is, "To give and receive enjoyment through music whilst raising money for charitable causes".
Each year, the Epworth Choir perform a spectrum of music ranging from major choral works and carols in Guildford Cathedral to classica / popular music and carols at venues in Woking. The Choir also had the privilege to perform as one of the two stage choirs at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Matthew Willis was appointed Music Director of Epworth Choir in September 2011 and Dominic John took up his appointment as Accompanist in April 2012. |
