BiographyStephan Rugamer is aGerman tenor.
He received his musical training mainly in the Hochschule für Musik in Lübeck , Germany , and completed his studies with Professors James Wagner and Günter Binge .
Between 1996 and 1998 he played the roles of Don Octavio in Don Giovanni , Belmonte in The Abduction from the Seraglio , Alfredo in La Traviata , and Alfred in Die Fledermaus at the Theater Lübeck .
Since 1999 Stephan Rügamer acts with the Berlin Staatsoper , conducted by Daniel Barenboim . Under his musical direction has played the role of David in the new production of The Mastersingers of Nuremberg , and Froh in Das Rheingold at Steuermann in The Flying Dutchman , a Chevalier in The distant sound (Produced new Peter Mussbach and Michael Gielen , to Boris and Katja Kabanova Schuisky in Boris Godunov (new production of Daniel Barenboim).
He played his first role in The Flying Dutchman Eric during a visit to the Berlin Staatsoper Teatro Real in Madrid in 2003 , also under the direction of Barenboim. Participated in Bregenz Festibal of 2005 playing in the operetta Umberto Spinola fun War Johann Strauss , and the Salzburg Festival in 2005 with the work of Richard Strauss Deutsche Motette.
