Biography | Ben Oakley (1899, Newcastle upon Tyne, England - 1980, Clapham, London, England), was a British trombonist.
Oakley served as a Bandboy in the Royal Artillery during WWI. During WWII he was a Bandmaster (as a Lieutenant)of the Royal Pioneer Corps Band. Later he was the conductor of Ben Oakley Orchestra that played all over London with twelve consecutive seasons on the end of Southend Pier. |
