Performance NotesUnder the slogan, 'The fight for our freedom is the fight for your freedom', the youth rally included representatives from 20 countries and a Declaration of Purpose was read in which young people pledged themselves to do their utmost to bring about a speedy victory. The main reason for holding the rally was to arouse the youth of all countries for the defence of the countries endangered by Hitler and Fascist aggression. Ambassadors, Foreign Ministers, well-known writers, and leaders of the Churches were present. (The Observer, 5 October 1941)
