Performance NotesThis performance was one of a run of concerts in November and Decemeber 1874 at the Royal Albert Hall which were promoted by Messrs. Novello and Co, the music publishers. Concerts were given (almost) every night and a full orchestra was engaged with Mr Pollitzar as Leader. Mr Montem Smith headed the concerts of madrigals, glees and part-songs.

- Mondays were 'Ballad' concerts (conducted by Mr Joseph Barnby),
- Tuesdays were 'English Music' ancient and modern (conducted by Mr J F Barnett),
- Wednesdays were 'Classical Nights' (conducted by Mr Joseph Barnby),
- Thursdays were 'Oratorios' (conducted by Mr Joseph Barnby),
- Fridays were 'Wagner Nights' (conducted by Mr Dannreuther),
- Saturdays were 'Popular' music (conducted by Mr Joseph Barnby),
- Sundays no concerts

Sir Julius Benedict and Signor Randegger also occassionally conducted.
The organ was played by Dr Stainer and M. Guilmant.
Accompanist was Mr W H Thomas.
