GODDARD v COOK. AN AUSTRALIAN VICTORY. The popularity of boxing has seldom been more strikingly demonstrated than it was last night when Frank Goddard climbed into the ring at the Albert Hall to fight George Cook, an Australian, whose sharply chiselled face was tanned, his eyebrows painted white, and in a way, with the bluish lights of the cinematographic apparatuc playing upon them, strangem even weird. The huge building was little short of being packed; few such audiences, telling of many and widely different conditions of life, have I seen at the ringside in this ocuntry; it told of a wonderful democracy, such as sport can only beget..."
