Performance Notes"M Michel de Sicard, sometime virtuoso to the ex-Tsar of Russia, gave last night at the Albert Hall a violin recital which did not lack interest...One felt last night as if one were communing with the ghosts of a past era. The illusion was heightened by the November fog - punctual as it always was in the old days - with its suggestion of Dickensian firesides and by the hall in many ways typical of the Victorians - a greater race than the present critical generation is perhaps willing to admit. And, of course, the mist was not only outside, but in the hall, making everything unreal, unsubstantial."
