Performance NotesThe eighth year of the Classical BRIT Awards with special performances from the best of the classical music world. The awards were established in 2000 to recognise outstanding achievements of classical musicians and the appreciation of classical music in the UK and around the world.

On accepting the award for Album of the Year, Sir Paul McCartney said, "It's a huge honour for me to get this. If you'd told me as a kid in Liverpool that I would be at the Royal Albert Hall picking up an a award I would not have believed you. How proud would my mum and dad have been if they had known this could happen?"
