"PRINCE LECTURES DIRECTORS ON GENERATION GAP. The Prince of Wales yesterday lectured 5,000 directors on the responsibilities of parenthood and told them that it was their fault of there was a generation gap. He made no apology for subjecting them to the indignity of a lecture from "an irreverent youth" of 22. It was the Prince's first speech to the Institute of Directors. The stature of his audience did not inhibit the Prince who lectured, joked and pleaded with them and, with good humour and reason, won himself a standing ovation. He pleaded for a better understanding of youth and for support of the Commonwealth - a unique institution of race and nations which could not be repeated..." (The Daily Telegraph, 6 November 1970) |
