| Performance Notes | During the concert Sir Adrian Boult was presented with the Gold Medal of the Royal Philharmonic Society.
" Sir Adrian Boult has been added to the Gold Medalists of the Royal Philharmonic Society, and the presentation was made to him by Mr Theodore Holland, chairman of the Committee of Mangement, at Saturday's concert in the Albert Hall, when for the first time the BBC Orchestra was engaged to play for the society. The award to the musician was this happily associated with the organization which he has created and brought to so high a pitch of proficiency." (The Times, 11 December 1944) |
