Performance Notes | The plea for no applause was removed from the programme.
David Young's demonstration: "...'I see a man who passed very quickly. It's your father. I get the name Charles. He sends you his love, but finds it hard to communicate. He was the kind of man who would give information only when he felt like it. he tells me you're a born worrier.' Lilian, whose married name is Hoyland said later, 'My father and I were very close. He passed 27 years ago. ... Young's second message was for someone named Clare - 'not a first name, this is a surname... I get the initials W J. Are they yours?' - 'Yes.' ... 'I am linking with Elizabeth, who says she has seen John. His passing was tragic.' 'Yes.' 'I feel I'm crashing.' - 'Yes.' ... The recipient laughed when Young mentioned the nickname 'Curly.' He also accepted a reference to Old Whitey' connected with the Army in North Africa. The medium added: 'Old Whitey says you were a good trooper yourseld. You had a way of dodging things. He says, 'If anyone would get out of it, you could!' Clare's amused reaction seemed to indicate this was another direct hit. Young's next message was for 'Hyde' - a name and also a place. This brought a prompt response from a couple who had travelled from Hyde, Cheshire - Gladys and Eric Hyde. They recognised the name Annie. 'I see a rather fussy character, someone who liked a natter.' 'Yes.' 'She says, 'I haven't changed at all.' She is talking about Bill, a man with only one leg.' 'Thank you!' exclaimed Gladys with delight... 'What happened to the stuffed parrot? he asked. Does that make sense to you?' It apparently did. ..."
