Performance NotesThe 100th anniversary of the Order of the Women Freemasons. They last came to the Hall in 1968 to celebrate their 60th anniversary. The programme included a procession of all the Banners of The Order's Lodges, introduced by Area. A Service of Thanksgiving followed, after which The Most Worshipful The Grand Master presented cheques of a quarter of a million pounds each to two charities - Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Support. The money had been collected by the Brethren over several years and the charities were chosen by them. The proceedings were closed with a Cavalcade of Highlights of the Century, in a song and dance, against a backdrop of images of national and Masonic events and pictures of the eight Grand Masters over the last one hundred years.
