| Performance Notes | "PROTECTION OF JEWS A TEST, SAYS HOGG.
Protection of the Jew from persecution is a test of the successful protection of all minority groups, said Mr Quintin Hogg to a cpacity audience of Jews in the Albert Hall last night at a celebration of the 18th anniversary of the State of Israel.
The extent to which Jewish sovereignty was respected was also a test of the United Nations in its ability to protect one of its smallest members.
Mr Bowden, Lord President of the Council said Britain was anxious to maintain and improve good relations with all the Middle Eastern countries, but not at the expense of a country like Israel."
