Performance NotesMiss World 1975 was won by Wilnellia Merced, aged 18, from Puerto rico. Second place went to Marina Langer, aged 22, from Germany and third place to Vicki Harris from the UK, aged 22.

The event was broadcast by BBC One from 21:25.
The dress rehearsal the previous day was filmed by BBC Television.

"There's no question which programme will be attracting the most viewers tonight. On all past form, the 1975 Miss World can be confident of an audience numbering around 25 million, and the highest viewing figure of the year. It all seems to make creative originality rather superflurous: the annual Albert Hall jamboree, a gift for voyeurs and bookmakers and the bane of Women's Lib, is guarenteed not to deviate from its long established routine. The only difference this year is that the 'interviewing' falls to David Vine, usually seen fronting 'Horse of the Year'. Another twist will be the presence in the adience of 13 former winners, some of them still distinctly more glamourous-looking than the new crop."
