Performance NotesLeopold Stokowski was the first 'international 'conductor to appear at the Proms. William Glock began to make the Proms an international festival in 1963 and Leopold Stokowski kicked things off the first week. Stokowski loved performing at the Hall and said "What a wonderful place this is!"He made his last public appearance in this country in 1974 at an Albert Hall concert with the New Philharmonia Orchestra.
