Performance NotesIn search of novelty as he made the Last Night of the Proms speech for a fourth time, Andrew Davis decided to sing it - parodying the Major-General's patter-song in The Pirates of Penzance. Davis displayed remarkable vocal skills to deliver such tongue-twisting couplets as: "This is the very model of a modern music festival / With entertainment sonic, Promenadable and aestival.", "The Albert Hall consistently is full of teeming multitudes / Intent on lapping up an almost constant stream of pulchritudes."
