Performance Notes | George Daisley clairvoyent demonstration: "'There are several spirit people here for you tonight,' he declared. 'There's Uncle Will, Sarah Ann, your grandmother, Mrs Cooper - and old neighbour Fred, a soldier killed in the first word war, and Ann Martin, who knew you when you were a child.' All were remembered. 'I can see a prayer book' added George, 'on the fly leaf is written the name of Mrs Mary Ann Spencer and underneath Troon St Chapel.' Again there was confirmation. Evidence about a bent poker and a faulty firebrick at the back of a fireplace was accepted as correct. Two anniversaries, one on January 14 and the other on March 27 provided one more proof of survival. But the highlight message was yet to come. 'There is another spirit friend of yours on the platform tonight,' announced the medium. 'She is telling me that she was married three times. Her first husband's name was White, then she became Mrs' Warren, and lastly Mrs MacFarlane.' 'That's right,' cried the woman. There was a ripple of applause... 'My demonstration here tonight' he concluded, 'fulfils a prophecy made 16 years ago that I would one day demonstrate at the Albert Hall.' It was Daisley's finest hour!!
Ronald Strong clairvoyent demonstration: "Was the first spirit described by Ronald Strong when he began his clairvoyance a Scotsman? For according to Strong, who was corroborated by a member of the audience, the man had passed on only three or four weeks before, and would otherwise have been present in the flesh. As it was he got in the cheap way. Furthermore he got extra value by relaying the longest and most detailed message of the evening. Surely a Scotsman. John Davidson - the was the name given - had promised before he 'died' that he would return through Ronald Strong at the Albert Hall. That promise he fulfilled. 'I want them to know I'm here, because when I was alive I was a bit doubtful,' he told Strong.' 'Yes. He was!' the woman who knew agreed feelingly. 'She tried to tell me about this, but I said I wanted proof' said Davidson 'And now' he added, 'I know more than she does!' Then he mentioned Bob, Bill, dog Rover and Harry Coster, chemist who had come to see him before he passed. 'It was about five minutes to eleven when he passed over,' Strong then stated. 'Nearer twelve,' corrected the woman. 'It was five minutes to eleven when he lost consciousness then?' That was admitted. A scar to the side of his right eye was the spirit's next proof of identity. ... She had also, he told her, put a book in her case, a book with red covers, auther - Robert Browning. More personal evidence came. His love he sent to all at number 8 Parker Street. The woman was asked if she remembered a ring he had worn bearing masonic markings. Would she tell his wife how glad he was she had it and had had it made smaller. With the name Bosham both medium and recipient were momentarily at a loss. Then Strong explained that Bosham was a dog and would be found on a photograph with Davidson and his wife that had been taken to the seaside. Recently the wife had shown the picture to the woman in the audience... Freda Marks was another name she failed to remember. But then it followed that Freda was a nurse, a friend of Davidson's wife who had come from the north to help her after his death... " (Psychic news, 19 April 1927) |
