Performance NotesThe second time, after 12 years that the Prince of Wales, had presided over the Freemasons meeting, since his election in 1875.

7,000 attendees wore full Masonic costume - the Grand Officers in purple and gold, the Grand Stewards in scarlet, the Provincial Grand Officers in dark blue and gold and the mass of brethren in sky blue and silver. Guest include Lord Carnarvon (Pro Grand Master), Lord Lathom (Deputy Grand Master), Lord Rosslyn (Past Grand Master of Scotland), Lord Wolseley (Grand Warden), Lord Leign, Lord Jersey, Lord Methuen, Lord Charles Beresford, Lord Cremorne, the Earl of Milltown, Mr W W B Beach MP, General Brownrigg.
