Performance Notes'A demonstration for industrial peace, organised by the Women's Guild of Empire, was held in London on Saturday, and taken in by some 20,000 women from various parts of the country. The chief industrial centres and mining districts in England, Wales and Scotland were represented in the procession, over a mile of length, which formed up on the Victoria Embankment and marched to the Albert Hall by way of Northumberland avenue, Pall Mall, St Jame's Street and Piccadilly. At a meeting in the Albert Hall later was a resolution was unanimously passed demanding 'That the resources of the nation shall no longer be wasted in strikes and lock-outs, but that all industrial disputes shall be settled by negotiation and arbitration.' (The Times, 19 April 1926)

The Times also reported that at times the march was disrupted and booed by communist sympathisers. Two men were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct towards the women. (The Times, 20 April 1926)

A large Union Jack flag was hung across the Hall in front of the organ.
