Performance NotesThe Royal British Legion will once again welcome members of the Royal family, Government Ministers and the public to join in an annual Festival of Remembrance, in honour of those who have given their lives in the Service of their country. Now over 6 million people watch the Festival of Remembrance on the BBC. It is also popular with radio listeners and audiences world-wide.

Two protests were held outside the Hall.

One protest was held by the Muslims Against Crusades group which set fire to a large poppy and chanted "British soldiers burn in hell." as the 11:00 minutes' silence was held. Thr group of 30 men held banners with slogans such as "Islam will dominate" and "Our dead are in paradise, your dead are in hell". Protestors clashed with police briefly with one officer taken to hospital with a head injury. Eight men were arrested.

The second counter-demonstration was held by up to 50 members of the English Defence League (EDL)
