Performance NotesOn the eve of his 70th birthday, the TV music director and BBC Radio 3 broadcasster Humphrey Burton realised the dream of a lifetime by conducting at the Hall. An experienced choral conductor in his youth, Burton took up the baton once again. In 1997 Burton was successfully treated for prostate cancer and conceived the idea of a charity gala to help raise public awareness.
