Performance Notes"Six miles of medal ribbon, which was sold by the War Office five years ago and which was to have been used for commerical purposes, will decorate the Albert Hall in Jubilee Week. This was announced by Mr Sellick Davies, chairman of the Empire Officers' Guild, at a luncheon of the guild at the Savoy Hotel yesterday.
The guild, he said, was formed about a year ago, in order to help the 30,000 men who held commissions during the War and who were now workless. When they got a job they could not hold it because of all they had been through. The guild had established hostels in different parts of the country where they could be nursed back to health, so that could hold the jobs that were found for them.
Mr Davies said that the guild had bought the whole of the ribbon - 900,000 yards of it which was about to be made into braces, suspenders, and other articles. SOme of it would be used in decorating the Albert Hall during their Jubilee demonstration and ball on May 9."
