Performance Notes"Mr Winant, the American Ambassador, and Mrs Winant were present at last night's Promenade Concert at the Albert Hall. The Programme, given by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Henry Wood, consisted entirely of music by English and American composers, including Purcell, Samuel Barber, Vaughan Williams, Ernest Schelling, Arnold Bax and Elgar. There was also the first performance of the Song of Faith by the Chicago composer, John Alden Carpenter."
